Announcing our Volunteer of the Year 2017
We’re incredibly fortunate at All Stars to have such a wonderful group of volunteers who help us spread autism awareness in such positive and unique ways.
Martin Comber is one of our most dedicated long-term supporters and we’re showing our gratitude today by making him 2017’s Volunteer of the Year.
Martin is hugely talented and builds some outstanding costumes and props completely from scratch. His custom-built droids always create a stir at our Star Wars events, and his medieval costumes and artefacts are second to none.
Martin helped us celebrate St. George’s Day this year
and bravely took on Flame the dragon…
He also made a fantastic Lumiere the candlestick,
complete with French accent – the public loved him.
From the Rocketeer to a Ghostbuster, a Stormtrooper to a medieval knight, we never know which costumes Martin will be working on next, but what we do know is that they’ll be accurate down to the finest detail and will bring happiness to people of all ages and abilities.
You can see some of his incredible creations in this tribute video we made for him: MARTIN ROCKS!
We recently surprised Martin with his certificate and a hamper, and he was amazed at being chosen, but for us it was an easy choice. We all agree he’s been a real asset to the charity and he absolutely deserves to be recognised for all his hard work.
So, here’s to 2018 and another year of your phenomenal costumes, fantastic props and brilliant characters!
Thank you so much Martin, from everyone at Autism All Stars. We’re very much looking forward to working with you for many years to come.
